Amazon.com Giveaway from Gift Zip

Have you heard about GiftZip?  GiftZip.com serves as a portal to the web’s eGift cards, promoting greener gift giving and seeking to save shoppers precious resources. GiftZip.com just launched their Greener Gift Giving movement in response to the 75 million lbs of PVC dumped into landfills each year due to plastic gift card waste. Retailers on the site include Sephora, Amazon, Ugg Australia, Home Depot, Kohl’s, Bloomindale’s, Walmart, Kmart, Meijer, and many more. GiftZip.com’s services ensure that users will never be forced to wait in a line, drive to a store, or pay additional fees for purchasing a gift card.

I LOVE giving and receiving Gift Cards and I have a sneaking suspicion quite a few of my blog subscribers love gift cards, too.  Hmmm…let’s see if I’m right.

GIVEAWAY: One of my blog subscribers will receive a $20 Amazon gift code, courtesy of GiftZip!

Mandatory entry: You MUST be a confirmed email subscriber to enter (see right-hand margin).  In ONE comment, state that you are an email subscriber AND tell me the name of another retailer on the Gift Zip site you like.

Bonus entry: Follow Gift Zip on Twitter.

The giveaway entry period will end at 6:00 pm EST on Thursday, September 23rd. Open to US only.  The winner will be selected by random.org.  Please note that you are ineligible for this giveaway if you have won another Gift Zip giveaway previously.

Disclosure:   I received no compensation for this post. I just thought my subscribers would enjoy this prize!

Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving

Did you know that in 2008, just over the Labor Day holiday weekend, 194 people were killed in crashes involving an impaired driver?

This Labor Day, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Ad Council are trying to remind people to plan ahead and designate a sober driver for any Labor Day celebration because “Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving.”

One of the most important things you can do before you go out is to designate a sober driver. If you’re throwing a party, make sure to offer up non-alcoholic drinks for the sober drivers in your group.  You can check out 50 non-alcoholic party drink recipes right here.

You can also search a nationwide list of alternative ride programs .

Finally, check out the Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving web site.  There you can sign a pledge not to drink and drive, play “Spot the Difference”, an interactive fame that simulates the effects of buzzed driving, and watch a real-life video about how buzzed driving changed one woman’s life.

Disclosure:  I am sharing this information because of my involvement with Global Influence.

Reminder…2 Giveaways Ending Tonight

I just wanted to remind you all that tonight at midnight the Hooked on Phonics and Bob Evans giveaways will be closing.  In moderating the comments, I found many that didn’t follow the rules.  I hate to be the heavy, but it’s not fair to those who are taking the time to do their required entry properly.  I had to delete those entries that didn’t conform to the rules.  Please read the rules carefully.  Thanks!

Giveaway Entry Methods–Feedback wanted

Since I’m new to hosting giveaways, I thought I would ask you (my lovely readers) what you think about the different giveaway entry methods.  I appreciate it when a giveaway only requires a single comment, because then everyone has a fair chance of winning.  However, this doesn’t allow for the sponsor to get their due attention, and we want to create a buzz for the product on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Still, from my standpoint I think the bonus entries can be excessive.  There are some blogs that allow for 5 tweets a day, with a minimum of 2 hours between each tweet.  That would mean you would have to visit that blog all day long if you wanted to get all of your bonus entries.  The unlimited tweet giveaways also feel like too much work to me, but then again if it’s a prize you REALLY want, you may be willing to jump through all those hoops and tweet your heart out to win.

I plan to host more giveaways and therefore I’d like to get your input as to what you prefer in terms of bonus entries.  Do you like tweeting once a day or would you prefer unlimited tweets?

Thanks for reading!
